Granting Authorized User Access
Becoming an Authorized User is an important step in staying informed and involved with your student’s university fee bill. Students may grant Authorized User’s access to their financial information, including the ability to view account charges, make payments, download the fee bill and enroll in a payment plan. An Authorized User may be a parent or guardian, family member, employer, or any individual the student chooses to provide access. Students may have more than one Authorized User.
Authorized Users will receive email notifications regarding the fee bill. Authorized Users who wish to speak or email on behalf of a student must provide the student’s 7-digit PeopleSoft ID and the FERPA 4-digit pin created by the student. Please note that becoming an Authorized User and obtaining a FERPA 4-digit PIN are two separate forms of access.
Please review the following options on how one may become an Authorized User.
Parent & Guardians Request Access to Students Account
- Visit https://UConn.myflywire.com/login .
- Click “Create New Account.”
- Click “No” when asked if you are a current of former student.
- Click “Create Your Authorized User Account.” (name, email, password)
- Verification email will be sent to email address provided to activate the account. (Please check inbox, spam, junk and promotions for an email from Flywire).
- Login to Flywire with email address/password.
- Next, the Authorized User is required to verify the student’s ID (7-digit people soft number) and date of birth. The students ID (7-digit people soft number) can be found in Student Admin or on the student’s photo ID.
- Flywire sends an email to the students uconn.edu email address indicating that the Authorized User has requested access to the student’s account in Flywire.
- Once approved, the Authorized User receives email notification that the student approved and the Authorized User has been established.
- If the student does not approve, the AU account will remain in pending status.
Student Grants Authorized User Access
- Login to Student Admin.
- Click “Bursar Services tile.”
- Click “Pay Bill & Authorize Users.”
- Click “Manage Authorized Users” option from the “Actions” menu at the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- Select the option to add an Authorized User.
- Enter the name and email address for the Authorized User.
- Then, an email will be sent to the individual whom the student set up.
- The Authorized User can then select a password to accompany the email address as the login credentials.
- After successful login, the Authorized User will then be able to view the student’s account in Flywire.
